| In Nagar Valley there is a village called Phakar. It is also called SYEDABAD, 80 km northeast to Gilgit in the Hammalia Mountains. It is a vast beautiful and a populated valley. It has a rich history. It has a great contribution in the freedom of Gilgit Baltistan. It is also known as the land of martyrs, and Sadats (Syed family). It is the land where the moment against dictatorship and kingship (Rajas /Mir’s) was initiated. Syed Sadat Ali shah and Syed Qalam-o-deen were spear heads of this movement. The king (Rajas/Mir’s) of Nagar was finally compelled to down to its knees. So this valley has a prominent place in the democratic history of Nagar. |
